Busy Busy Busy
Ok folks, i know its been a while since my last post, but i have an excuse, a good one at that. Ive been on my production grind. A few weeks ago a promoter friend of mine reached out to be about this idea he had and wanted my expertise in production to help push this idea. Well needless to say i liked the idea and that currently a project that im working on. Over the weekend we shot our first commercial/ trailer for one of his upcoming parties and it goes without saying that the video is amazing. Im currently in post production with it and ill release it via this blog and DatzWhatzup.net tonight, after i leave my 9-5 and hit da edit lab tonight. So look out for that.
Ps: as you can see i added my twitter updates to the side of the blog so that, somethin fresh is always on the site. Follow me! twitter.com/jnsq_kompa

JNSQ Production Logo
OK, so i look at alot of the projects ive been working on lately and noticed i dont even have a decent logo. So this week i decided to hit the lab and create one. I needed something that was gonna define what i am and what i do in a single message and came up with this.
What do you think? Awesome i know, and the best part is i not only left the lab with a new production logo but i also made business cards using that logo, they should be on the way soon, shouts to vistaprint.com they make cheap but good business cards. So you guys see that im really on my grind.

Gotta crawl before you walk....
Ok, so I haven't updated in a week, I apologize it's cuz I've been on my grind, this week I finally created a slugline for my production company, in case you don't know what that is, its when the opening credits to a movie comes on and the name if the production company[ies] comes on the screen. Well I completed mine and I can finally add it to the begining of my next project which is editing this live performance by Roc Nation artist J.Cole who opened for artist Wale at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC, ill upload it soon!

Kung Fu: The Legend DIScontinues....
If you have a pulse you know who actor David Carradine is. He is best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine in 1970s television series "Kung Fu" and his most recent work in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movies and Carradine reprised the role in a mid-1980s TV movie and played Caine's grandson in the 1990s syndicated series "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues." Its ironic that in the film he plays Bill the antagonist in the film in which Uma Thurmans persona tries to kill, and in reality he ends up killing himself. David Carradine was found hanging in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand by a maid around 11:30am. He was in Bangkok shooting a film in which the title has yet to be revealed. Its a sad day in the acting world, David was truely a "Legend" and will be missed. With actors dropping left and right who am I gonna cast in some of these films im writing up?:(, You would think with all the time he spent on "Kung Fu" fighting bad guys, he'd be able to fight depression. I guess you can never judge a person's happiness based on their success but i'll tell you one thing if I was in his position (of course not being 72 and dead) i'd be very happy.
More recent photo of Carradine

My First Review, Drag Me To Hell (not to be taken literally)
Hi Guys this is my first film review, hope its helpful. Im trying to see at least one new movie a week so if anyone wants to join me hit me up on da twitter.com/JNSQ_Kompa
Friday night MAY 29th I decide to check "Drag Me To Hell"...Hmm...I guess from the title its safe to assume someone is gonna get dragged to hell, so lets just say they saved the creatitivy of the title for the movie.I go to SUNRISE Cineplex in Rosedale, Queens and it is still one of the most low budget theaters I've ever been to. If you see metal detectors and highschool kids getting snuck in through the back door of the theater its just best to go somewhere else. But back to the movie The film is written and directed by Sam Raimi, He is responsible for the "Evil Dead" trilogy and he goes back to these roots with "Drag me to Hell". I can appreciate the film because of my love for the "Evil Dead" trilogy but somehow "Drag me to Hell" just falls short. The acting was good and the directing was good, where I feel the movie lacked was in the writing, it was clever at certain parts and was lacking in others and even got kind of cheezy. I do applaud Sam Raimi's ability to scare the crap out of you and yet make you laugh histerically with the same breath. I dont want to give away the film so im just going to say to not waste your money on it, its a recession and you can live without seeing this film for the 10.50 I paid. If you want more info on the movie just click on the IMDB link I have at the bottom.
